Firefly 6

Importing & exporting pages

Move individual pages, groups of pages or sections within a Firefly installation or from one Firefly installation to another.

The Import/Export function can be very useful in a situation where you've created a page on a senior school installation but would like to move it onto the junior school site. Likewise, if you'd like to share pages you have made with someone at a different school that also has Firefly, you can send them your exported pages and they can import them into their site.

Exporting

  1. Navigate to the page or section that you'd like to export.
  2. Select the arrow next to Edit Page, then choose Import/Export.
  3. Choose Export Firefly pages or Export Firefly section as appropriate.
  4. Export sub pages:
    • If you'd like to export any subpages along with the page you are on, choose This page and all child pages.
    • If you'd like to move your page or section to different installation, then the Target should be set to Any Firefly installation.
  5. Select Export Firefly pages or Export Firefly section

The pages or section are exported to your device as an .fpml file.

Importing

  1. Navigate to the section of the site where you'd like to import your content. The imported content will go in as sub pages of the page you're on. If you're importing a section, it doesn't matter which page you are on, because you can choose where the imported section will go.
  2. Select the arrow next to Edit Page, then choose Import/Export.
  3. Choose Import Firefly pages or Import Firefly section as appropriate.
  4. Select Choose File.
  5. Select the file you want to import, then select Choose. This file will end with the file extension .fpml.
  6. Select Import Firefly pages or Import Firefly section.

The pages or section are imported into your Firefly site.

Pages can easily be copied or moved within your Firefly site.
