Setting your first task

Set your first piece of homework in the app.

  1. From the dashboard, select Set a New Task.
  2. Enter the name of the person or class that you'd like to set the task to, or choose from your lists of classes and students. In this example, we'll set a task to the Year 10 English class.

  3. If you want, you can assign a co-owner. We will leave this field empty.

  4. Select Next.
  5. Select Task Title, then enter a title.

  6. To add a due date, select the calendar icon then choose a date.
  7. Decide where the task should be displayed.
  8. Select Next.
  9. Choose whether students need to submit a file to mark the task as complete. As this a reading assignment, select No.
  10. Select how you will assess the task. Since assignment doesn't require assessment, select No Assessment.
  11. Select Next.
  12. OPTIONAL Add a description. You can format your text and add links if you want to. In this example, we don't really have anything more to add so we'll keep going.

  13. Select Next.
  14. OPTIONAL Add an attachment. You can upload a file from iCloud or Google Drive, take a photo or upload a photo from your gallery, or create an audio recording. In this example, we don't really have anything more to add so we'll keep going.
  15. Select Next.
  16. Review your full task summary.

  17. To publish your task, select Set Task.
Your task is set. If you've finished working with tasks for now, select Done.

Your task appears in your list of tasks and recipients will be notified that a new task has been set for them.

You can create all sorts of tasks, from a simple reading assignment as we created above to more complex work requiring students to submit files for you to annotate and mark. You'll find out more about this in the Tasks section.
