Annotating tasks

Annotate your students' work directly within Firefly.

  1. In the main navigation bar, select Tasks.
  2. Choose a task.
  3. Choose a student.

  4. To annotate the file of their submission, select View File.

If you'd like to download the file of your student's submission without annotating, simply select Download File.

  5. In the annotation toolbar, choose a tool. You can choose from the following:

    Write freehand
    Draw a rectangle
    Draw a circle
    Add new text
    Highlight existing text
    Underline existing text
    Strike-through existing text
    Add a note

The selected tool will be highlighted in grey. In this example, we're using the type tool.

  6. Select the area of the document you want to add the annotation to, then type your comment. Select the document again to stop using the tool.

You can change the font size and colour of the text by using the highlight existing text tool.

  7. OPTIONAL Move the annotation around the document by selecting the highlight existing text tool. Click once to select it, then drag and drop it to the desired location.

If you need to undo a change to your annotation, select the single left arrow in the annotation toolbar.

  8. When you've finished adding your annotations, select Save.

The annotated document is added to the task history.

You can delete files added to a task by selecting the three dots next to the file name, then choosing Delete.
